Research Enhancement Program
Last year, with one-time funding, the Research Booster Program was able to provide a significant amount of support for faculty Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity. It also highlighted the clear need our UWGB faculty members have for research support beyond what the Grant in Aid of Research funds can typically provide.
Based on the success of last year’s Research Booster program, the Provost’s Office has generously provided an additional one-time amount of $90,000 for Research Council to propose to run a new grant pilot program. While we have already had one Grant in Aid of Research grant round this fall, this new two-tiered pilot program will also enfold this year’s remaining GIAR funds, which means the Research Council will have approximately $110,000 to distribute for the rest of this academic year. This is in addition to the annual Summer Research Scholar program, which will stay intact this year. While we hope this new program can demonstrate the real need for additional research support, at minimum, it is envisioned 2023-2024 funding will remain at yearly levels to support GIAR and Research Scholar programs.
