About the Registry

The Wisconsin Community-Based Care and Treatment Training Registry keeps track of those individuals who meet criteria of state-mandated trainings for community settings.

As part of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's commitment to keeping the registry easily accessible, we have created a more navigable website with additional resources, better tools and a new design to support your work in Wisconsin's Community Settings. With this site, you are now able to upload class rosters electronically and pay all fees by credit card. This provides a faster turnaround time of your registry entries.

Please call (920) 465-2315 or e-mail registry@uwgb.edu for questions about the Wisconsin Community-Based Care and Treatment Training Registry.

Background

Effective April 1, 2009, Chapter DHS 83, Wisconsin Administrative Code for Community-Based Residential Facilities, was revised. Among the changes are requirements for both instructors and students of the four department-approved training topics (standard precautions, first aid and choking, fire safety, and medication administration), outlined in DHS 83.20. The requirements created standardized curriculum, an approval process for instructors, and a registry to track completion of the classes. In addition, an administrator course and train-the-trainer courses were developed. Since that time, several other types of community settings, that are regulated by DHS are using this training to meet the state-mandated training requirements. Employees are encouraged to check the administrative code or with the provider they are working for to see what training is required.
