Crash Reports

Blue sedan with a crumpled front, bent axil and shattered windshield after a crash

Definition

A "Reportable" crash either originates or terminates on a traffic way, which involves at least one motor vehicle in transport, and results in any of the following:
  1. Injury or fatality of a person
  2. Total damage to one person's property to an apparent extent of $1000 or more
  3. Damage to government-owned property to an apparent extent of $200 or more, except government-owned vehicles, which are $1000.

"Reportable" Crash Reports are available online through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Reports may not be available until 10 days AFTER the date of crash. If you were involved in a crash which was documented by the University Police Department, electronic crash reports can be obtained using the above button or going to https://crashreports.wi.gov/ .  Printed reportable crash reports are made to those reporting in person to the University Police Department for pickup.

"Non-Reportable" accidents are available at the University Police Department, as they are not made available by the State of Wisconsin for purchase. A release will be required and University Police will provide printed copies of non-reportable and reportable crash reports to those reporting in person to the University Police Department for pickup only.
