Donald Long Hall opened in 1989 and is recently remodeled, offering fully-furnished rooms shared by two residents. Each room has a private bathroom and shower, vanity area and sink. Long Hall is located in the community of Long, Schaefer and Temp Halls and near the Community Center, parking lot and courtyard.

Room Layout

Each room is roughly 238 square feet in size and features a private bathroom with a shower, as well as a vanity area and sink. The extra long twin beds can be junior lofted to slide the dressers below or can be stacked as bunk beds.

Long Hall Staff

Two floors of Long Hall has a Resident Mentor (RM), a trained student who lives in the building and oversees about 30 students each. Their primary role is to help develop community on your floor or wing, but they also are trained in peer guidance, leadership development, crisis intervention and establishing community standards. Duty Staff

In the evening and on weekends, select Resident Mentors (RMs) are on duty to handle your after-hours needs and concerns. Donald Long Hall has an assigned pair of RMs that oversee nearby buildings* each night. Resident Mentors are on duty from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on school nights and 9 p.m. to 3 a.m Friday and Saturday. Level 2 Living Community

You've leveled up, and advanced to your next year in college! Donald Long Hall is the only residence hall specifically geared for students who have advanced beyond their first year. Only sophomores, juniors and seniors can live here. The programming is not about college orientation and is all about having a great experience as an upper level college student.

The Level 2 Living Community is one of several thematic and academic residential communities available in UW-Green Bay on-campus housing. These communities are designed to provide students with unique living experiences that enhance their academic and personal growth.

About Donald J. Long

Donald J. Long Sr.Mr. Donald J. Long, Sr. has touched the lives of students at all levels and in all corners of the community through his leadership and philanthropy. Mr. Long was born in Brillion, Wisconsin, the oldest of nine children of James Long, a railroad switchman, and Bernadette Rolf Long, a homemaker and seamstress.

At mid-point in a career in sales, Donald Long took a risk. He sold his house and invested in a company of his own. Today, Imperial, Inc., employs more than 100 people at its corporate headquarters in Green Bay and distribution centers in Rhode Island, Nevada and Texas. As his company has flourished, Donald Long has shared his time, energy and business knowledge with the institutions and organizations that enrich a community - its university, schools, churches, cultural organizations and human services agencies.

Mr. Long and James A. Temp served as general chairmen of the University's first capital fund drive, raising more than $2.5 million for scholarships, professorships and student housing. He is a past vice president of the UW-Green Bay Founders Association and a current member of the University Village Housing Inc. board.
