The Earth is our laboratory. Geoscience is more than just the study of rocks, minerals, soil, water and air. It also aims at a deeper understanding of Earth system processes and the interactions between the physical environment and living organisms (evolution, natural hazards, groundwater and soil quality, climate change).

The Geoscience program at UW-Green Bay provides a solid foundation for careers in geotechnical fields, hydrogeology, land and water conservation, geoscience education and many more. Students interested in geophysics, oceanography, planetary geology, economic geology, climatology and other advanced fields will be well prepared for enrollment in graduate school in the Earth Sciences.

Meet John Luczaj

“If you are fascinated by Earth materials (minerals, rocks, air, soils and water) and how the Earth System works, then a major in Geoscience is for you!”

- John Luczaj, Professor of Geoscience

John is also here to help! If you have any questions about the Geoscience program please contact us!
