The core of UW-Green Bay's Environmental Science & Policy graduate program focuses on the identification and analysis of environmental issues, and on developing innovative, interdisciplinary approaches and solutions to problems. Our faculty firmly believe that environmental policy must be based on good science, but also that environmental science is ineffective unless it can be translated into sound policy decisions.
Interested students should first choose a Degree Option that best matches their current needs and future ambitions. Then, choose to specialize in one of four areas with an Area of Emphasis. Every Degree Option and Emphasis has a practical orientation that engages students in real-world problems and issues, emphasizing skill sets necessary for solving critical environmental challenges.
Students appreciate our small class sizes and the close association with faculty. Our program features faculty that are widely published, active in externally funded research, and committed to excellence in teaching. We are closely connected with national, state, and local agencies, and the University offers supporting facilities for our program, including access to many field research sites and a strong library collection.
