Dean's Welcome

As a graduate in environmental science and environmental science and policy from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (91’ and 93’) and the founding Dean of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET), I want to welcome you to UW-Green Bay! The College of Science, Engineering and Technology offers a diverse array of majors and minors in engineering, engineering technology and the sciences, providing a solid foundation for career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related fields. Students in CSET have access to state of the art facilities, including the new Brown County STEM Innovation Center that is located on the UW-Green Bay campus and is the home for the Richard J. Resch School of Engineering. In addition, the College of Science, Engineering and Technology includes the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity and the Environmental Management and Business Institute, which provide research and internship opportunities on campus and in the community.
As Dean, I am particularly proud of the faculty in CSET, who are accomplished teachers and scholars and provide high quality instruction and hands-on learning and research experiences to students in both laboratory and field settings. This teaching includes a partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW-Green Bay), where faculty from Human Biology provide direct instruction for MCW students. Faculty in CSET consistently obtained funding from local, state, and federal sources to support campus, community and regional based research projects and I would urge you to learn more about student research opportunities associated with these research projects. Our faculty believe that being a complete student, involves more than just classroom instruction. Therefore, in addition to research opportunities with faculty, we strongly encourage students to become involved in extracurricular activities including student honor societies, student organizations, and study abroad programs.
In summary, the College of Science, Engineering and Technology has high quality faculty and offers a diverse array of opportunities for students interested in engineering, engineering technology, and science. I truly appreciated my time as a student in the sciences at UWGB and look forward to working diligently to provide similar and new opportunities to our current and future students.
