Where Educators Improve
The Applied Leadership for Teaching & Learning program is designed for educators actively employed in PK-16 classrooms, other educations or business, and industry training. This degree is the first in Wisconsin to incorporate the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, and has been praised by the Governor as a worthy initiative to help WI teachers obtain NBPTS certification and quality professional development. This program has gained national attention as an exemplary, advanced degree program. The State of Wisconsin offers financial assistance to reward teachers who obtain certification via the rigorous NBPTS criteria.
What Will I Learn?
The two-year, 30-credit program fosters each teacher's ability to provide leadership in the improvement of student learning; prepares the teacher to design, implement, reflect upon and evaluate school-based and learner-focused research; and integrates classroom experiences into the course of study.
